About Us

Our Mission

Our mission is to share the latest home improvement tools and DIY equipment through experience-based product reviews and how-to guides. Our content is relevant and useful for professional tradesmen, home builders and like-minded DIY-ers.

Our Purpose

Our goal is to provide insights that will help you effectively determine whether a tool or product suits your needs and budget, or not. We personally test out home improvement tools on our own DIY projects, and at our day jobs, and we’re happy to share our experience with you.

Our Story

Hi there! My name is Sean Chapman. I’m the founder and editor here at Tools’n’Goods.

I’ve been working with wood since I was young, taking on many projects and learning from great mentors and practical classes. I am now a professional carpenter and home builder and have worked at various construction companies — both here, in my home state of Oregon, and out in the world.

I have the great fortune of working with some highly skilled and passionate tradespeople and craftsmen. Genuinely great people who are co-contributors to Tools’n’Goods.

Tools’n’Goods is our way of sharing our experience with tools, and home improvement. I know you will find it useful!

I value our reputation and as such, all of our reviews are honest and unbiased. Our genuine intention is to share knowledge and personal experience with you.

I enjoy browsing through your feedback, questions, and requests. Please post comments and I will respond. If you’re a manufacturer producing excellent carpentry equipment, don’t hesitate to contact me. I am more than happy to test your product and post my honest review here on Tools’n’Goods.

You may also find me contributing to other blogs, or featured on other great websites. To name a few of the most prominent, The SpruceFamily HandymanReal Homes, Every Drop Saved, and TinyHouseZine.

Best of luck with your tool purchases and projects!

Sean.
