About Us
Hi there and welcome to my website!
My name is Sean Chapman. I’m the founder and editor here at Tools’n’Goods. I’ve been into woodworking since I was a kid, taking up various carpentry classes, becoming more and more interested in building things.
Find me on:
That’s when my passion for woodworking was born. After school, I started working as a carpenter at various construction companies — both here, in my native state of Oregon, and out of it.
Today I’m a professional carpenter with more than 10 years of experience in the trade. Home improvement, woodworking, and remodeling are my main specialization. Even though my motto is ‘Well done is better than well said’, I realize how important my tips and hacks are to people engaged in remodeling their homes.
At first, I just gave on-demand lectures on home remodeling tools to my neighbors. I was amazed at how many questions they bombarded me with. Six months ago, I became interested in web design.
That’s when the idea to create my own tool and machinery review blog was born. I’ve always wanted to share my experience with people who need professional home improvement advice.
You may also find me contributing to other blogs from time to time. To name a few of the most prominent, I’ve been featured in The Spruce, Family Handyman, Real Homes.
About my blog
My experience in working with subpar equipment, as well as multiple requests from my friends and neighbors, encouraged me to start Tools’n’Goods. I launched this blog as my hobby.
Mission & Goal
My mission is to show you some of the latest home improvement tools and D.I.Y equipment. In this blog, I share experience-based tools and machinery reviews, as well as how-to guides with professional home builders and like-minded D.I.Y lovers.
My ultimate goal is to provide insights that will help you effectively determine whether this or that tool or product suits your needs/budget or not. I test out home improvement tools at work on a daily basis and enjoy sharing my knowledge with D.I.Y-ers who have similar questions to the ones I used to have. I realize how important choosing the right tools is, that’s why my approach to every review I publish is very responsible.
Air tools, hand tools, power drills, sanders, tool accessories — the categories and lists of tools I cover are very extensive. The success of your whole project largely depends on the tools you opt for. After reading my posts, you will get the chance to study the pros and cons of the equipment you’re planning to use. Therefore, with me, your chances of making the right choice and i.e., saving your time and money on home remodeling increase tenfold.
Because I value my reputation, my reviews are honest and unbiased. I do not receive compensation for my reviews. My sole genuine intention is to share knowledge with people. I consider it one of the key strengths of Tools’n’Goods, that’s why I will hardly ever go a different route. Upon putting my tools away, I like staying hydrated with a glass of cold beer and spending time with my wife and kids.
Aside from that, I enjoy browsing through your feedback with lots of questions, recommendations, and requests for reviews on various hand tools you’re currently interested in. If you’re a manufacturer producing excellent carpentry equipment, don’t hesitate to contact me. I will test your product, and if it’s as good as you claim it is, I will gladly post my review on it in the Tools’n’Goods review section.
Best of luck,
Sean.
